After nearly a ten year career in healthcare sales, I was fortunate to have an opportunity to return to Austin, TX. The move enabled me to fulfill a long-standing goal of receiving my bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
I also had the good fortune of recreating myself professionally, aligning my move to Austin with a career shift into sports journalism and broadcasting. After nearly three years of covering Longhorn athletics and doing play-by-play of high school football games, my fledgling career was derailed when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2007.
I am still in the process of retraining myself to walk, talk and eat after what has been deemed a ’successful’ craniotomy in April 2007. A large part of this site is dedicated to that rehab. What better medium to share the trials of daily life with family and friends?
On this site there is also an opportunity to attempt to understand my passion for Longhorn athletics, NCAA football and sports in general. I am the biggest sports fan I know – seriously.
What else is here? In addition to rehab and sports, you will also find writings on family, friends, deer hunting, my upcoming wedding and a whole array of topics that will likely appear to be random in totality! Of course, that would be me…a little bit about a lot.
Good looking sight!
PS – My legs are killing me. Got up and ran a 5K yesterday morning for Bindy’s company. The race was Spring For Cancer (hosted by Radiant Systems).
It’s great to see that smiling face again my friend! It’s been way too long.
I do hope things are getting better for you.
Drop me a line. Take care Matt.
