Senator Edward Kennedy was diagnosed on Tuesday as having a malignant brain tumor. According to this report, Kennedy was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday.
Regardless of how folks feel about his politics or his personal life, this is a very serious diagnosis. Having been through my share of brain tumor challenges in the last 13 months, I will be the first to say that I would not wish this on anybody.
At the same time, Kennedy’s difficulties ahead are sure to bring some much-needed attention to brain tumors and research for more information. Until more information becomes available to the public, I wish the Senator from Massachusetts nothing but the best of luck.
I have never been quick to agree with many of his political stances, but now is not the time for waging such battles. Senator Kennedy has a new fight on his hands and it will take every ounce of both his and his family’s strength to persevere.
